In order to offer our readers, volunteers and supporters an outlet for making a prayer request for themselves or a loved one, as well as to respond to the requests of others, we at Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. have created a forum for this purpose. Often we hear of a fellow Vaisnava who is enduring some hardship, sickness, or terminal illness. Due to the compassionate nature of a devotee the desire is there to help and somehow alleviate or lessen their suffering. We may not be sure how we can help, due to distance or other reasons. Prayer is something each of us can do. We can all offer a prayer, artika, or other spiritual activity in the name of a Vaisnava in need. The Vaisnavas C.A.R.E. prayer forum was created so that many can post prayer requests, read, and respond to the requests made. Bhaktin Rita March 20, 2011 Prayer request for Balabhadra dasa Chaya devi dasi is requesting prayers for her husband Balabhadra dasa, ISKCON Minister for Cow Protection: I don't have conclusive information but I can tell you what I do know. I am going to Ukraine tomorrow evening to bring him back on Thursday. Then we will have to see what we can do here. We got an email from Balabhadra Friday that he could not feel his hands and arms. We later found out he had no mobility of his legs also. He was in the Ukraine countryside and it has been difficult getting information. Due to the help of Sivarama Swami, Niranjana Swami and Gaura Sakti, leader of New Vraja Dham and Hungary, we were able to make contact with Balabhadra and he was eventually able to receive proper medical attention. We now know that it is not a stroke, or heart attack but something with his back. A MRI will be done in Kiev and we hope to know more then. That should be on Monday. I am going tomorrow evening to Kiev to bring him back on Thursday and then we will see what can be done. I will try to keep try to keep you updated when I am updated. He is March 22, 2011 Dear Sri Sri Radha Kunjabihari, I am begging at Your lotus feet for the dear servant of the cows, Sriman Balabhadra dasa. He has dedicated his life to go seva, how glorious of a devotee he is. Selfishly, I beg that he be allowed to continue his service here as we need him to champion the work he does for Krsna's dear cows on earth. I know that he will be serving Sri Gopal and his cows at the end of his journey here but ISCOWP and ISKCONs cow ministry needs his leadership and may he become strong again to continue protecting cows. The pain is so intense that he can barely eat. And I know he is in serious pain because this is the first time he has taken any time off from his services since he arrived in New Vrindaban a year ago. Hare Krishna Dear Devotees, My aunt [Babitha Ganesee] is extremely ill in hospital - she had to undergoe 5 major surgeries in a period of 5 days... the doctors has given her 48hrs to live... but I truly believe that prayers can heal and perform miracles. Prithusrava prabhu's surgery For your information - Danakeli dd, Prithusrava Prabhu's wife, called one Chicago congregation member just now to inform that Prithusrava prabhu's surgery was over by 1 PM -- a fraction of the surgery time they had anticipated. It was a complete success. The doctors were able to remove the whole tumor with out leaving behind any tumor cells. The tumor did not break. They also were able to do this with out breaking the jaw bone or cutting any arteries, which they previously thought they would have to do, which would have complicated the surgery and seriously impaired full recovery. Most probably they will be able to release Prithusrava prabhu from the hospital in couple of days. So thankful for all the prayers offered by many devotees all over the world. ys, Dear Devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. I am writing to request your prayers for my husband, Prithusrava Prabhu, as he will be undergoing a major surgery on Mon. (Feb. 7) for a large tumor in his neck/head area. The surgery will take place at Stroger Hospital of Cook County (in Chicago) beginning around 7am CST and is to last up to 10 hrs. He will then be hospitalized for at least 7 days on a feeding tube and will be released when he can swallow on his own, after which he will require 6-8 weeks of recovery for his facial nerves to begin working again and for his jawbone (which they have to cut open) and muscles to repair. December 27,2010 His Grace Ananta Sesa das, disciple of His Holiness Jayapataka Swami passed away at Tulane Hospital, New Orleans today morning. He was just in his early to mid-forties and has a wife and a young daughter. He was admitted with high fever and was in the ICU on the respirator, but it is a complete shock to the young family and all devotees of New Orleans Temple where he has been serving so devotedly for many years. His whole family consists of stalwart Vaisnavas from Navadwip, Mayapur for many generations. His brother is a sannyasi in our movement and every year organized huge free prasadam distribution in many places in Navadwip. She was imprisoned and later sent to the mental home where she is presently. According to vedic culture a woman must be protected by her husband or father but Leila always lived alone and she did this act in self-defence. Now she may stay a lifetime incaserated. Your aspiring servant, Three Russian Book Distributor Devotees Die in a Car Crash By Yadhunandana Das On November 29, three Vaishnavas from Nizhniy Novgorod, Russia died in a car accident. The devotees - Ananga Mohan Das, Adhi Yagya Das and Bhakta Lev Khramilov - were in a hurry to Izhevsk, taking part with enthusiasm in the traditional Srila Prabhupada book distribution marathon. According to the traffic police, the tragedy took place at the 63rd kilometer of the Elabuga–Perm highway at 6 p.m. Suddenly, the BMW-316 driven by Adhi Yagya Das went to the wrong side and crashed into a truck, which was moving in the opposite direction. As a result, Adhi Yagya, Ananga Mohan and Lev Khramilov received fatal injuries. The truck driver was not hurt. He was the one who called the police. The fourth devotee who was with them – Sergey Smirnov from Vologda - is still being hospitalized in Mozhga. According to Ananta Sesa Das, temple president in Nizhniy Novgorod, Sergey`s condition is now stable. The doctors operated on him, removed his spleen. He got several fractures, severe cerebral injury, but luckily there is no hemorrhage. Sergey regained consciousness and was able to utter "Haribol!" when he saw the devotees, who came to visit him. The farewell ceremony to Ananga Mohan and Adhi Yagya took place in the Nizhny Novgorod temple. There was kirtan, the devotees prayed to the Lord, the temple Dieties and to Srila Prabhupada and remembered about the sublime nature of these Vaishnavas. Then the bodies left for Moscow, where there was another ceremony for them in the Moscow temple. The body of Lev Khramilov was buried in Nizhniy Novgorod in the presence of his mother. ISKCON Russia pays respects to all the relatives and friends of the Vaishnavas who passed away.

Vrindavananda das Anandini Devi Dasi Passed Away Hare Krishna, The prayers and blessings of the Vaisnava's are the only shelter in this world.... through those blessings all good fortune flows. My sister, Anandini dd passed away suddenly last night. She has been fighting cancer, but this was an unexpected turn for the worst. In the past she had the good fortune to spend some time in the yatras of Italy, France and Spain and maybe even the UK. It was a relatively short time and then she distanced herself from devotees for some years, although lately she was chanting and reading again. Anandini was a grand-disciple of Srila Prabhupada having received his mercy through the mercy of his disciples. She served in the kitchens most of the time she lived in the ashram, and helped Adiraja dasa with testing the recipes of The Hare Krishna Book of Vegetarian Cooking back in the day. Her service may seem insignificant considering the short time and the span of her life. Still I fondly appreciate that the photo of a scrumptious plate of prasadam she lovingly prepared has been used in the BTG to invite guests to the Sunday feast for these many years. When reminded of that a few months ago she was deeply touched to still be of small service to Srila Prabhupada and Krsna. Even a small grain of sand cast in Krsna's service is appreciated by Him. We have been given the gift of fearlessness by Srila Prabhupada, even a brief connection with Lord Chaitanya can do that. She had said recently that she knew this life would now be less than normally expected and she was ready for that. It is my prayer that Krsna helped her in those final sudden moments to move in His direction. Few probably remember her, but some might. In any case, I am requesting that the Vaisnava community hold her and her family in prayer and good wishes for her spiritual progress this day.... no step on this path is in vain, even one that is later covered in fault or obstacles. He expressed that It was also a good sign to see her recovery from the heart failure after the chanting and prayers of so many devotees this morning. "My Dear Sweet Lord, if You wish so, please allow Devaki to come back strong and heal. She is much needed to spread Your Glories and Your Holy Name!" Please accept our humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. We are greatly saddened by the untimely departure of His Holiness Purnacandra Maharaja. Maharaja was a dedicated disciple of Srila Prabhupada, and he had worked hard to spread Prabhupada’s message in different parts of the world, in a number of services. He was a dedicated ISKCON sannyasi, preaching enthusiastically and effectively, particularly in the former Soviet Union. Many devotees were enlivened by his wonderful preaching, and he had many initiated disciples particularly in that part of the world. He also formed and was the chairman of the GBC Body’s Sastric Advisory Committee. This group of some of the most knowledgeable devotees in the movement would consider different important philosophical questions put to it by the GBC, and present papers clarifying different issues for the Body. Through his thoughtful Krishna conscious discrimination Maharaja was able to distill essential truth from many perplexing discussions. Maharaja was a wonderful kirtana leader and dancer who relished the transcendental sound of the holy names, and loved to chant in the company of his Godbrothers and other devotees. The Last Darshan of Purnachandra Swami - Dear world wide community of devotees, Please accept my humble obeisances, All Glories to- His Divine AC Bhaktivedanta Swami- Srila Prabhupada. All glories to H.H. Purnachandra Swami HDG Srila Prabhupada’s `Disappearence day’ this year in Moscow Russia was a heavy sober reminder of spiritual loss to all the devotees in Moscow iskcon. By Lord KRSNAs arrangement an unusual event took place here. There was the celebration of two departures / ‘disappearence day of devotees’ in iskcon Disappearances, of Our Beloved Srila Prabhupada and his beloved disciple my Godbrother Purnacahndra Swami. The ceremonies were lush and loving with Kirtan’s,bhajan’s ,Flowers and Push punjali and artiks and words of appreciations. His HH Naranjana Swami and myself were the only two Godbrothers present at the ceremony 1st in a huge hall like tent next to the Moscow iskcon temple. Hundreds of Russian devotees attended the days and evenings ceremonies. The ceremonies took place at 2 separate places and times, HH Purnacahndra Swami’s, emotional and somber ceremony took place in the start of the day in the morning and Srila Prabhupada’s in the afternoon and evening. This was necessary as Maharaj’s body had to be cremated the same day. So it happened that two intense emotional spiritual loss experience’s took place on the same day.Thats a rare event in iskcon anywhere. A few’s word about H.H.~Purnachandra Swami~ He spend many of his later years in iskcon preaching in the former Soviet Union, Moscow in particular. I personally knew him for many years and I will miss him. I was always so happy to have his kind friendship, humble and genuine association, Purnachandra Swami really cared about his Godbrothers and Godsisters and lived his life for serving and helping the devotees and later in his life serving the Russian iskcon devotees. He was an wonderful example for us all. Purna chandra was attached to no material things,only the holy names of GOD HARE KRSNA Maha Mantra and to Srila Prabhupads iskcon and its devotees, He was attached to following Srila Prabhupads instructions to the letter. Maharaj was attached to preaching, encouraging book distribution and massive Hari Nams in Moscow to all the Russian devotees and he lead the example. His personal example of real humility and real dedication to Srila Prabhupada and Srila Prabhupada’s iskcon society and its devotees ,is a shining example of a true Prabhupada man and he will be dearly missed by his Godbrothers and Godsisters and disciples and Russian devotees who knew him. On October 15th Maharaja was hospitalized with internal bleeding, and from September 19th he was in coma. Despite deep coma he manifested some signs of consciousness every time when devotees would come to him to chant the holy name. Purnacandra Maharaja joined Srila Prabhupada's movement when he was 17 years old. For more than 38 years he served ISKCON with great dedication. His knowledge of the Vedic scriptures was vast and profound. For many years he was teaching Bhakti-sastri course and many other courses to the devotees. He had very deep attachment to Sri Vrindavana-dhama. He divided his preaching time between Russia and Balkans, but Karttik he would always spend in Vrindavan. Over the last few years he was writing a book dedicated to Lord Krishna's pastimes in Vrindavana. He was always deeply absorbed in the holy names. The concentration and intensity with which he would chant the holy name every day was incomparable.

LATEST UPDATE on Purnacandra Goswami's Health Submitted by: New Vrindavan Communications Dear Devotees, Dandavat pranams. Jay Srila Prabhupada! HH Purnacandra Maharaja is still in coma and it seems that there is not much that the doctors can do to get him out of it. He is on life support, but the doctors at this point are not talking about discontinuing with life support. The problem in Moscow is getting the right information from the doctors because they are reluctant to speak about his predicament as Maharaja is an American citizen, without any 'legal' representative in Russia. The devotees (HH Niranjana Swami and now the devotees in Moscow), however, have managed to contact Maharaja's father who is willing to give the 'power of attorney' to a devotee in Moscow, and this will give his 'guardian' an opportunity and (most importantly) authority to speak with doctors and get more information about the chances for his recovery. Doctors have checked his reflexes and it seems that Maharaja is responsive, which is a good sign. As to the chances for his full recover, we have to wait and see and, most importantly, depend on Lord's mercy. At the moment, devotees, with the help of some highly placed people in Moscow, are trying to arrange for Maharaja an Mp3 player, so that he could listen to bhajans, which was initially very difficult to achieve as Russian authorities were very strict on this point (no foreign object in the reanimation department). It might be possible to arrange for a priest/devotee in the room as well (who could read to Maharaja). Maharaja is in the best hospital in Moscow, and devotees are doing their best to help him out: by being in touch with the doctors, praying and holding daily kirtans, trying to connect with friends of devotees at high places who could help out, etc. Furthermore, on the recommendation of Shyamasundara das (the astrologer) there special homas are being held for HH Purnacandra Maharaja (to bring Purnacandra Gosvami back from the coma and to restore him to full health) in Srirangam, India. Please, continue with your prayers, so that our merciful Lord (if He so wishes) may speed up Maharaja's recovery and give him many more years of service in the sankirtan movement. Your servant,

Please pray for her soul as she has been a believer in God all her life. Last year she started chanting and became a vegetarian. She is in constant pain in her leg because her hip bone disintegrated. It is painful for her to breath due to pneumonia and 2 days ago she said she can hardly see. Tonight, she thought she was at home instead of the hospital. UPDATE Report on Rupa Sanatana Prabhu's surgeryReport from St Louis on Oct 18, 2010 All glories to Srila Prabhupada! The surgery was completed successfully within an hour. The surgeon believes that all of the ping-pong ball-sized tumor has been removed. His prediction, with 85% confidence, is that it is "surface cancer" or "superficial cancer" that was on the bladder walls, yet to be confirmed by the pathology report scheduled to be received end of this week. The worst-case would be that the cancer has penetrated the bladder walls and possibly entered the blood stream -- this would certainly require heavier treatment. If his prediction is correct no further treatment would be helpful or necessary. The recovery time for Rupa Sanatana Prabhu to get back to ALL activities is 2 weeks, before which he needs to avoid strenuous activity. It was fascinating how he walked in at 6am and walked out at 10am after quite an intense surgery! He seems to be doing well except for some abdominal pain and bloody/painful urination. He was VERY relieved and happy to hear of the results... so were we. Krsna's mercy! Bladder cancer is apt to recur. Like most of the devotee's parents, the Forkashs were concerned. They never heard of this strange cult who sang and danced in the streets. Further investigation lead them to the paramahamsa, Srila Prabhupada. Soon they appreciated his pure and elevated teachings. The Forkeshs came regularly to the temple. Rose noticed other parents and felt compassion for their bewilderment. She saw how we alienated our parents. While enthusiastically embracing everything Prahupada gave us, we "threw the baby out with the bath water" The typical scenario was an anxious parent came looking for their lost child. This child most likely dropped out of school. Gave up all friends and a job without any notice. Standing before them was once their baby now dressed in a sheet, head shaved, or nose pierced. We didn't greet them in a customary polite way. No, we used a mixed foreign dialect. Made them take off their shoes. Sit on the floor with a paper plate, over filled with a strange spicy arrangement of food. No spoon, no fork, no napkin. They sat awkwardly while we preached non stop. Mind you,our parents did not bend well. They never sat on the floor. The ladies wore nylon stockings which shredded without shoes. At that time avocados were considered exotic. Eating with your hands was very crude. We did more to alienate them than the Communist. Rose was a great mother who understood the situation. She and her husband, Sam started a successful organization called Friends of Krishna. They bridged the generation gap. They reached out to many a worried parent in different ways. Rose knew her generation needed certain comforts. She arranged luncheons with tables, chairs and silverware. They wore their shoes and became comfortable. The Forkeshs helped Prabhupada include our parents in receiving Lord Caitanya's mercy. Rose and Sam did a great service for Srila Prabhupada. August 11, 2010 I would like to request prayers for a beloved devotee of our Lord. His name is Syamachandra das. Syamachandra das has been a devotee since the age of 11. As he grew up as a bramachari, he later became temple secretary at the New Jagnanatha Puri temple in Phoenix, Durban. He is a disciple of H.H. Bhakti Caitanya Swami, and was initiated Syamachandra das at the age of 19. According to his long time friend and now care giver Ziad Prabhu, Syamachandra not only introduced him to the KC movement but has tirelessly worked to impart the knowledge of the Supreme, enlightening many a soul. Syamachandra das has a very acute case of cancer and is undergoing treatment for it, and of which both have affected his health profoundly. My request for prayers to make Syamachandra days as comfortable as possible during this very challenging spiritual, and physical period. Over the years she has performed numerous daring outreach preaching services all over Southern Africa, including Lesotho and Swaziland. She was also responsible for securing one of the largest monthly donations to ISKCON Food for Life in South Africa from the Hollard Insurance group; a donation that ran for over twenty years to our Johannesburg/Soweto Food For Life program. For some time she has struggled with cancer and recently she moved into the Radha Radhanath Temple to focus completely on her Krishna consciousness and to prepare for the inevitable. At the present moment Padma is in the intensive care unit (ICU) under continuous medication. Her situation is stabile, her mother can go in and feed her in every 3 hours. The other extensive examinations have not shown any other deficiencies or problems. She got strong enough that she could be operated. The doctors scheduled her heart surgery on the 2nd August (Monday) 9:00 AM (CET). The surgery takes about 5-6 hours. The surgery needs an elaborate preparation and a long post-operation period, what can last for days or even weeks.
We would like to ask you to please pray so that Padma could be strong to take this extremely difficult and stressful situation and recover soon, and so that Adi Radhika Mataji and Gaura-sakti Prabhu could get enough strength in the middle of this spiritually and emotionally hard and straining situation. Srila Sivarama Maharaja visited Padma in the hospital and then he put her picture on the altar at the lotus feet of Radhe-Syama and Gaura-Nitai so that Padma can get their mercy also. There is a great need for each and every support, words and prayer. We would like to ask you however to please don't try to get in contact with Gaura-sakti Prabhu or Adi Radhika Mataji personally or on the phone, but they are happy to receive encouraging, supportive e-mails at: (gs@1108.cc) or SMS messages. Gaura-sakti Prabhu and his family will spend the following weeks or according to the situation even months in Budapest near the hospital in a rented apartment. We are very sad and with tears in our eyes, to announce that our very dear Devaki Mayi mataji
is in a very delicate health situation as she may leave her body at any moment, She is now in
Ecuador. I just spoke to her husband HG Ekanath Gaura prabhu and our god sister Sarvasakti mataji
on the phone, and they informed me that, apart from having a lot of swelling in her brain, she is now
facing heart failure and the doctors are doing their best to bring her to a stable situation.
It seems it is going to be very hard, as only a miracle for the chanting of the devotees may help her at the last moment. Please offer prayers for her recovery.

On the 4th of November, 22:25 PM Moscow time Purnacandra Goswami passed away. It is a great loss for the entire ISKCON community.
We would like to inform you that on the 20th July 2010, the second daughter
of Gaura-sakti Prabhu (the president of New Vraja Dhama, and the yatra
president of Hungary) and Adi Radhika Mataji, Padma was born. The delivery
was smooth, and natural. Padma is a nice, strong, long black haired girl. 14
hours after she was born the doctors diagnosed that she has heart problem
called transposition of the great arteries. She was immediately taken from
the hospital where she was born to the Cardiology Institute by the infant
ambulance.
During the surgery the arteries what are in the wrong position will be
relocated to the proper one. These kinds of surgeries are being done in
Hungary since the ’70s and there are 3 more babies waiting for this
operation in the same Institute. After the surgery the situation of the
babies gets better and stabilizes immediately. After the post-operative
period the children are released from the hospital. This will not effect the
quality of life of the babies, their health will be normal and they can even
do sports later on.
